Benno Schmitz went through the FC Bayern academy. In 2014, he joined Red Bull Salzburg and immediately became a key player. He twice won the league and cup double. He made the move to FC in 2018 from Leipzig. The right-back, affectionately known as kölsche Cafu, has made over 100 appearances for FC. In his free time, he likes to be with his family. Alongside his football career, Schmitz is currently studying within the Sportbusiness-Management area.
