Josefine Osigus was born in Gelsenkirchen on 26th October 2004 in Gelsenkirchen. She started playing football at the age of four and decided to be a goalkeeper relatively quickly. That is no great surprise considering her father, Christof Osigus was a Germany youth international and was part of FC Schalke 04's youth academy.
Josefine Osigus played for Erler SV 08 and SV Zweckel, before joining SGS Essen's youth academy. There, she made her way through the ranks to the first team. After her time in Essen, she joined Borussia Bocholt and FSV Gütersloh 2009.
Osigus is a goalkeeping talent and signed a two-year deal with FC in summer 2023. She is part of the first-team squad and, along with Paula Hoppe, also plays for the under-20s in the Regionalliga West.
