Dr. Carsten Wettich
Dr. Carsten Wettich moved up from the Member Council in December 2019 after Dr. Jürgen Sieger opted to step down. He is in the position until Autumn 2020, where there will be the usual Member Meeting. While he is part of the Presidium, his post in the Member Council will be put on hold.
Since he could take his first steps, Carsten Wettich has been an FC fan and, during his youth football days, was part of the academy for two years. He has been a member for over 15 years and has been a life-time member since 2015.
Carsten Wettich has been part of the Member Council since 2013, and has been the Deputy Chairman of the Joint Committee for the past five years. In this period, Carstein Wettich has taken particular care of economic, structural and legal questions. These topics are also what Carsten Wettich will actively engage in while in the Presidium. Along with that, he wants to improve the dialogue between members and fans, so that FC can remain a club led by members and does not become dependant on investors, as well as being transparent and within reach for all.
Carsten Wettich is a founding partner of a law firm specializing in the area of corporate law and has been successfully advising companies and corporate leaders as a lawyer for more than ten years.
Carsten Wettich was born in Köln and despite periods abroad, he has remained true to the Rhineland. He has two small children, who have been FC members since birth, and both are at his and his wife's side as they head to the stadium.
