Janina Hechler was born on 28th January 1999 in Reutlingen. She started off her footballing career with TSV Gomaringen before joining VfL Sindelfingen. Hechler also was a successful athlete in her youth, winning the regional 300m Championship before deciding to concentrate on football following her move to 1. FFC Frankfurt in summer 2015.
At the age of 17, she made her Bundesliga debut. Her talent wasn't just seen at club level as she marched through the DFB youth teams and was part of a senior international squad in 2018. Hechler has already over 100 Bundesliga appearances to her name.
Shortly before the end of the transfer window in summer 2023, FC signed Hechler to a two-year deal. She immediately made her debut in the DFB-Pokal second round tie against SFC Stern (10:0).
